Every time I bring a friend to « La Rôtisserie », we come out with a feeling of complete happiness. First, the drive there and back along the Seine, is very romantic; second, Frédéric, the maître d’, is charming, speaks English and always remains serene. Third, the food is French and fabulous. When the former Rôtisserie du Beaujolais, a very old bistrot on the left bank, came up for sale some years ago, Claude Terrail, the then owner of La Tour d’Argent, bought it. Nothing has changed in the restaurant which specialises in roasting, chicken, duck, pigeon, quails and all sorts of game during shooting season.
The best tables for me are on the « terrace » with a view of Ile St Louis. The service is totally charming and wines are very reasonable in price especially the Bourgogne maison served in a « pot », which is excellent. I had lukewarm leeks to start (but could have had foie gras or snails) and kidneys with French fries AND mashed potatoes for entrees. And cherry clafoutis for dessert. Everything was excellent just the way I would like to have it at home and once again, we left the restaurant with the feeling of having eaten lovely food. (19 quai de la Tournelle)

Wow, sounds amazing and sooooo tasty! Thank you for sharing this magic place “to keep for yourself” 🙂
Wish I could watch the preparation of kidneys to learn an easier way than the one I have used.
Our cat Puddin’ was so appreciative when I served a tasty puree to her. Once, a home-made steak and kidney pie was my reward in a effort to determine why it was her favorite dinner.
Ah, Paris, how lovely.
