When the Baccarat flagship store was located, Place de la Madeleine, my house guests used to bring me presents from the shop and it was very nice… But, yet another luxury hotel, is being built on the site and Starwood capital, who owns the crystal company, had to close the store.
Only to reopen five minutes away, in an even better location, across the street from the Bristol, the now famous « Midnight in Paris » hang out. So I rushed on opening day to check it out for you…

Like having a corner office in a New York law firm, corner shops are obviously the nec plus ultra in the “Gold triangle” 8 th arrondissement.

Of course everyone including Daniela Riccardi, the Ceo, was concentrating on the Woman’s Wear Daily journalist who had been invited before the rest of the Press !

So besides the fact that none of the sales girls knew any prices for the lovely crystal rings that I might indulge in for Christmas, it is all beautiful, super luxurious and sometimes affordable.

I am not talking about the suspensions that the new shop in Jedah will certainly sell by tens, but about the lovely crystal butterflies and earrings, the « photophore » (candle holders) designed by Philip Starck, the « cocktail party in a box », (8 glasses of all shapes) or the King Harcourt espresso glasses.

This is for Baccarat, a great way to meet George Clooney fame with the classical glass collection Harcourt, which is so famous that it has been reproduced everywhere in France.

It’s lovely to still find true luxury in Paris, and be able to spend 260 € feeling you spent ten times more. (79 Fbg St Honoré, corner of Avenue Matignon)
