Ring Hortense de Navacelle and museums open up

So many young people complain about working too hard or not working at all that it is really exhilarating to meet a 33 year old young lady, mother of (soon) 3, who trained as an engineer, worked in marketing for Voyages SNCF, the French train company,  and who has now opened an agency for booking museum private tours.

Openartvisit started at Christmas time with small groups of children (age 5 to 8) in the Egyptian wing of the Louvre and Hortense could not believe how successful they were. The specialized guides, who all are trained as art historians and usually belong to RMN (the Association of French National museums), love it and create especially lively and short visits for their audience (1 h 30 for appr 30€ per child, no parents admitted).

For grown ups, each visit is custom made. They can be « speed lunch” visits, one hour between 1 and 2 pm at Musée d’Orsay or a tour of  Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun in the Grand Palais. Or much longer and more specialized tours of Chinese exhibitions or contemporary art. You don’t queue and you have a bright guide who tells you what YOU want to hear.

For a place like Musée de l’Homme, it is really valuable, because so many topics can be discussed and skulls do not always speak clearly to the mind.

In 2016, Hortense already advertises « Le Douanier Rousseau » at Orsay, or « Paul Klee, l’Ironie à l’oeuvre » at Beaubourg, between April and July, Futura’s work at « Street art » at Hotel Molitor any evening of the year, “Hubert Robert” at the Louvre from March 10 to May 30 th, and « From Honfleur to Giverny, Atelier en plain air », at Musée Jacquemart André from April to July.

Musée Jacquemart André always has beautiful exhibitions and a nice tea room…

One can imagine a small group for a birthday party, touring the best hidden treasures of the Louvre or an evening at Grand Palais around « Carambolages », the trendy exhibit of the spring curated by Jean Hubert Martin.
