I was sent this picture from Boston and was so struck by its dramatic beauty that I had to share it with you. At a  time when Eritreans and Libyans are dying in masses near Sicily, this work of art reminds us all of the Middle East trauma. Made of polyurethane, the 22 swimmers represent the 21 million refugees in eh world today

They are moved by the wind, and clustered at the base of the Federal Reserve building housing the central national banking system for New England … in an old canal which separates the Financial District from the hot new Seaport District. They were commissioned by the Fort Point Arts Community (until early December) from Ann Hirsch and Jeremy Angier who work in Somerville.1014_humanoids-fort-point03-1000x666

  1. Fully share your observations. Please include me in your distribution list. Crazy week Paris, is an understatement. Managed to do 4 Fairs including 4 visits to FIAC, which was at a high level this year. Certain galleries did well. London Frieze and Frieze Masters had rather mixed financial rewards, I was told.

Your regular letter, of the very little I have seen, is for sure very interesting and personal.

    Thank you.

  2. Original, daring an eyeopener to those who don’t wish to see what is going and dont realize how desperate the situation with huge loss of life of innocents.

Copies of the work should be brought over to Paris and tied to the PONT d’Alma, near the Bateaux Mouches, which has a high tourist frequency.
