The new show at Hotel de l’Industrie, on place Saint Germain des Prés, from 22 to 24 March, will not be competing with Salon du Dessin or Drawing Now. It is   the story of three talented girlfriends, Sophie de Ségur, Sandrine de Nicolay and her daughter Juliette Filippi, who have always painted or drawn and want to show 150 of their works to the world. They use mostly pastel and ink, and photography for Sandrine. And they are good. The three days promise to be a celebration of chic, very Parisian and great fun.

One Sophie de Ségur, is the great great grand daughter of Comtesse de Ségur, who wrote very popular children books in the XIX th century of which “Les Malehures de Sophie” (Sophie’s misfortunes) is the most famous. Her father Pierre knew all the museum collections by heart and must have influenced her in her childhood with his huge artistic culture. She started life as a ballerina, then became an opera singer performing at the Châtelet,  and has apparently painted all along. I had no idea! On top of all these qualities, she is fun! great fun and beautiful. Her pastels of mountains, the seashore or country landscapes are very strong and evocative. I particularly like her sexy oyster.

Sandrine de Nicolay, worked as administrateur at the National Assembly all her life and also loves music. She exhibited her photographs at MEP, Maison Europécnne de la photo, a few years ago, but also draws with ink and pastel. She studies embroidery, a very popular artistic medium at the moment.

Her daughter Juliette Filippi draws with ink and felt pen almost abstract images of intertwined bodies. It is both sexy and very cold.

The show of 150 works will only last for three days, so do not miss it. Drawings, pastels and photographs sell between 500€ and 3 500€
